The Seattle-based Startup has developed a process called Modumetal that can increase the strength of metals like steel ten times, and will make it more resistant to corrosion. The process is really inexpensive and if the modified metal can pass field testing, it will find it uses in many applications like building bridges and other infrastructure last longer, and making light weight and fuel efficient cars and plane. The company has been in collaboration with oil companies like Chevron, Conoco-Philips, and Hess. The parts has been tested in some oil fields. Hydrogen Sulphide, found in some Oil is very corrosive and damage production equipment, but with the help of this new technology those parts may last longer and thus will reduce the cost of oiling.
